Bankipur bypoll: BJP chief Nitin Nabin vows introspection after Kishor ends party's 30-yr hold
Prashant Kishor of Jan Suraaj Party defeated BJP's Neeraj Kumar in the Bankipur Assembly bypoll by 19,324 votes, ending BJP's 30-year hold on the seat.
BJP national president Nitin Nabin said the party will conduct a thorough introspection after losing Bankipur and Datia bypolls.
Kishor's victory was his first electoral win since launching Jan Suraaj Party, which had failed to win any seat in the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections.
Bankipur had been a BJP stronghold since 1995, represented by Navin Kishore Prasad Sinha and later Nitin Nabin for five consecutive terms.
The bypoll result is seen as a big political upset ahead of Assembly elections, with Kishor's campaign centered on education, employment, and governance reforms.
