BJP chief Nitin Nabin reacts as Prashant Kishor wrests his family seat: 'Unexpected'

BJP national president Nitin Nabin accepted defeat in the Bankipur and Datia bypolls, acknowledging the party fell short of expectations.

Nabin thanked voters in Gujarat for helping the BJP retain the Manjalpur Assembly seat and congratulated party workers on the victory.

Jan Suraaj Party founder Prashant Kishor defeated BJP's Neeraj Kumar in Bankipur by 19,324 votes, a seat held by BJP since 1995.

Nabin had represented Bankipur for four consecutive terms and resigned as MLA after becoming BJP president, making the bypoll necessary.

The BJP will conduct a thorough review of the election results in Bankipur and Datia, with Nabin vowing to return with renewed energy.
