WATCH: Shiv Sena Workers Throw Garbage On PCMC Chief Engineer’s Photo Over Moshi Landfill Tragedy, Raise

Shiv Sena workers and corporators led by Eknath Shinde protested at PCMC headquarters on Wednesday over the 8th July Moshi landfill collapse that killed nine people.

Protesters symbolically threw garbage on a photograph of PCMC Chief Engineer and Environment Department head Sanjay Kulkarni, accusing him of negligence.

Shiv Sena corporator Sulbha Ubale alleged that prior notices from MPCB and NGT were not implemented and that Kulkarni accepted bribes, though no evidence was provided.

PCMC Commissioner Dr Vijay Suryawanshi called the collapse a natural disaster, which protesters rejected, demanding action against officials rather than only the private company.

Police registered an FIR against the private company's officials, while PCMC issued a show-cause notice to Kulkarni and constituted inquiry committees for investigation.
