8th Pay Commission: Latest Updates for Government Employees
The 8th Pay Commission, headed by Justice Ranjana Prakash Desai, was constituted on 3 November 2025 to review salaries, pensions and allowances for central government employees and pensioners.
The Commission has an 18-month timeframe to submit recommendations; as of 3 August 2026, nine months will have elapsed.

On 23 July 2026, stakeholder interactions in Delhi were scheduled for 7 August and 10 August 2026.
The last date for submission of memorandums was extended to 15 June 2026, giving additional time for employee organisations and pensioners to submit recommendations.
