US national held at Nepal border, ‘had entered India via sea route without valid documents’

US national Jordan Brown, 36, was detained by the SSB at India-Nepal border in Mainihwa, Uttar Pradesh, near pillar 516.
Brown entered India in November 2025 via sea route without valid documents, after losing his passport in Thailand on a tourist visa.
He had been residing in Goa before attempting to cross into Nepal without authorization.
No travel documents were found in his possession; a case was registered under Sections 21/23 of the Immigration and Foreigners Act.
Brown's claims are being verified; legal proceedings are underway at Sonauli Police Station.
