American held at Nepal border for lacking documents
Uttar Pradesh police registered a case against American national Jordan Brown under the Immigration and Foreigners Act at Sonauli Police Station.
Brown was apprehended near the Sonauli border while attempting to enter Nepal without valid documents, including a passport or visa.
Brown claimed he lost his passport in Thailand, traveled to India by sea on November 2, 2025, and resided in Goa and Bengaluru before his arrest.
He said he studied at the University of California, served in the US Navy and Special Forces for six years, and left the military around two years ago.
Brown alleged he married an Indian yoga instructor from Uttarakhand in October 2024, but officials stated he failed to provide verifiable details.
