Idaho In-N-Out shooting kills 3, police release names

The Twin Falls Police Department confirmed Chad Williams, 24, as the gunman in the August 1, 2026 In-N-Out shooting; he died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Police confirmed three victims and the suspect are deceased, totaling four deaths; the three victims did not include the shooter.

The shooting occurred at approximately 2:29 p.m. on August 1, 2026, near In-N-Out in Twin Falls, Idaho; police responded to 911 calls reporting shots fired.

Two injured victims have been treated and released, three are in stable condition, and two are in critical condition; victim identities are not yet released.

An off-duty state trooper and a citizen returned fire toward the suspect, which police said helped drive the suspect away and prevent further casualties.
