Chad Williams motive: What we know so far as police say Idaho Twin Falls mass shooting suspect 'acted alone'

Twin Falls police identified 24-year-old Chad Williams as the suspect in the mass shooting at an In-N-Out restaurant in Twin Falls, Idaho, on Saturday.

Police Chief Matthew Hicks said Williams acted alone; his motive remains under investigation.

Williams died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound after being confronted by an off-duty state trooper and an armed citizen, identified in some reports as Jordan Salinas.

The shooting occurred around 2:29 p.m. MDT, killing three people and injuring at least seven others.

In-N-Out confirmed one of the victims was an employee; the identities of the victims have not been released.
