Gyaneshwari Yadav won silver in women's weightlifting with a total of 199kg, behind Nigeria's Onome Omolola Didih (206kg).

Bindyarani Devi took bronze in women's 58kg category with a total of 199kg; gold went to Nigeria's Rafiatu Folashade Lawal (229kg).

Muthupandi Raja secured silver in men's 65kg event with 286kg, behind Malaysia's Muhamad Aznil bin Bidin (299kg).

Tejas Shirse became the first Indian in 60 years to reach the men's 110m hurdles final at the Commonwealth Games.

Long jumpers M Sreeshankar and Lokesh Sathyanathan advanced to their respective finals; boxers Sachin Siwach and Ankush Panghal reached quarterfinals.
