CWG: Sarvesh Kushare becomes 1st Indian to win silver in men's high jump
Sarvesh Kushare became the first Indian to win silver in men's high jump at the Commonwealth Games, clearing 2.25m.
Jamaica's Romaine Beckford won gold on countback after both failed at 2.28m; England's Jack Kimani took bronze with 2.20m.
Kushare, a 31-year-old national record holder, previously became the first Indian high jumper to podium at a Diamond League meet in Monaco.
He set a new national record of 2.31m while winning gold at the National Inter-State Championships in Bhubaneswar last month.
The other Indian, Adarsh Ram, finished fifth with 2.15m; Tejaswin Shankar retired after failing 2.05m as a precaution ahead of the decathlon.
