Mirabai wins hat-trick of gold at CWG, Rishikanta, Raja secure silver

Mirabai Chanu won her third consecutive Commonwealth Games gold medal in women's 48kg weightlifting, setting new Commonwealth and Commonwealth Games records in snatch (85kg), clean and jerk (105kg), and total (190kg).

Rishikanta Singh and M Raja each secured silver medals in their respective weightlifting events.

Nigeria's Ruth Asuquo Nyong finished second in women's 48kg with a total lift of 168kg, 22kg behind Mirabai.

Mirabai's performance included breaking down emotionally, attributing her success to support from her mother and coach Vijay Sharma.
