Hunt to nab Delhi Police constable who shot wife dead; dowry claim being probed

A 2022-batch Delhi Police constable, Manish Bhati of the Anti Auto Theft Squad, allegedly shot his wife Priyanka dead on her birthday in east Delhi.

The incident occurred after an argument; CCTV shows the couple stopping near Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital before the shooting.

Five police teams are conducting raids across Delhi-NCR and Haryana to trace Bhati, who remains absconding.

The deceased's family alleges dowry harassment since marriage in 2023 and had filed a complaint with the women's cell; police are verifying the claim.
