Delhi Cop shoots wife dead with service gun on her birthday

Delhi Police constable Manish Bhati allegedly shot his wife Priyanka Bhati dead with his service gun on her birthday in east Delhi's Kalyanpuri.

Priyanka Bhati, a 32-year-old schoolteacher at Prudence School in Ashok Vihar, was shot in the chest at point-blank range after an argument.

The couple had left home between 2am and 3am after a domestic dispute; Bhati allegedly took her out under the pretext of getting medical help.

Bhati, posted with the anti-auto theft squad of the east district, remains on the run; multiple police teams are searching for him.

Priyanka's family alleged dowry harassment by her husband and mother-in-law since their marriage in 2023.
