NEET fast-track court's first hearing stalls as CBI skips proceedings
Delhi's fast-track court for the NEET paper leak case held its first hearing on July 27, 2026, but it stalled because no CBI lawyer appeared.
The court, presided by Special Judge Anu Grover Baliga, was scheduled to hear bail applications of accused Dinesh Biwal and Vikas Biwal.
The judge adjourned the hearing to August 3 and directed the director of prosecution to ensure a public prosecutor is deputed.
The fast-track court was established under the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024, following PM Modi's announcement.
Previously, Special Judge Ajay Gupta extended judicial custody of all 13 accused and denied bail to Dr. Manoj Bhagwanrao Shirure, calling him an active conspirator.
