8th Pay Commission Latest Update: Data Collection Complete, Nationwide Consultations Continue

The 8th Pay Commission (8th CPC) closed its data submission window this week, following the June 15 deadline for suggestions and memorandums.
The commission extended the data submission deadline to July 31, 2026, and only accepted data through its official portal, rejecting paper data, Excel sheets, hard copies, and emails.
The commission's decisions will impact over 1 crore people, including around 50 lakh central government employees and about 65 lakh central government pensioners, affecting Dearness Allowance (DA) and Dearness Relief (DR).
The commission has held meetings and state visits in April, May, June, and July, with reports from Chandigarh, Delhi, Chennai, and Puducherry submitted last week.
The final report is expected between February and April 2027, about 18 months after the commission was formed.
