PMK welcomes TN's decision to approach SC over Cauvery water dispute

PMK President Anbumani Ramadoss welcomed Tamil Nadu's decision to approach the Supreme Court over the Cauvery water dispute.

Tamil Nadu's move follows Karnataka CM D K Shivakumar's declaration that bilateral talks were not conducive due to protests.

TN Law Minister R Nirmal Kumar announced the state would file a petition in the apex court after August 5 to demand immediate release of Cauvery water.

Ramadoss urged CM C Joseph Vijay to file a case directing Karnataka to release water as mandated by the Cauvery Water Management Authority.

Ramadoss demanded a stay on the Detailed Project Report for the Mekedatu dam, alleging a joint design by the Centre and Karnataka.
