Ransom notes released in Nancy Guthrie kidnapping case

Authorities released two ransom notes in the Nancy Guthrie kidnapping case; the second note claims she died shortly after being taken.

The first note, sent to KOLD-TV in Tucson on February 2, demanded $4 million in cryptocurrency, increasing to $6 million if not paid by deadlines, and threatened to kill her.

Nancy Guthrie, 84, mother of 'Today' show host Savannah Guthrie, went missing from her home outside Tucson, Arizona on February 1.

The first note claimed Guthrie was safe but scared and would be released within 12 hours of payment, and mentioned a white smart watch and destroyed flood light as proof.

Authorities have not confirmed whether Nancy Guthrie is alive; the second note suggested she died shortly after being kidnapped.
