'Compromised mediators': Ex-US General questions Pakistan, Qatar's role in Iran talks

Retired US General Jack Keane criticized Pakistan and Qatar as compromised mediators in US-Iran talks, saying they favor Iran over the United States.

Keane argued that using Pakistan and Qatar as intermediaries weakens Washington's position and gives an inaccurate picture of Iran's intentions.

Keane also accused Saudi Arabia of going soft on Iran, noting it declined to provide airbase access for potential US strikes and encouraged continued negotiations.

The comments come after President Donald Trump chose diplomatic engagement with Iran over a planned military strike, with Pakistan and Qatar facilitating communication.
