'Unbelievably duplicitous': Trump accuses Iran of lying about US talks

President Trump accused Iran of acting in bad faith after Tehran denied direct US negotiations, claiming Iranian officials privately sought talks.

Trump wrote on Truth Social that Iran asked for a meeting, talks began, and then Iran publicly denied any discussions, saying they were only dealing with Oman.

Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei stated Tehran was not engaged in direct negotiations with the US, with discussions limited to Oman over the Strait of Hormuz.

Trump asserted the Strait of Hormuz is under US Navy control, warning that 'nothing gets through to Iran' unless a deal or total surrender is accomplished.

Trump reiterated the US position that 'IRAN WILL NEVER HAVE A NUCLEAR WEAPON' amid escalating tensions over Iran's nuclear program.
