'There is No Agreement': Iran Rejects Trump's Claim of Strait of Hormuz Reopening Deal

Iran rejected reports that it agreed to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, denying US President Donald Trump's claim of a draft agreement for its 'immediate, complete, and total' reopening.

Iranian state media and officials dismissed the reports as baseless, with the semi-official Fars news agency citing a source saying 'There is no agreement on reopening the Strait of Hormuz.'

Fars reported that ships will only be allowed passage along a specified route after coordination with and formal authorization from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy, with warnings of 'incidents' for unapproved routes.

Iranian defence officials rejected Trump's claim that Tehran asked him to stand down from a planned strike, calling it 'another lie', and stated Iran's defence personnel are at 'highest level of readiness'.

Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi told Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan that Iran is prepared to counter any US or Israeli offensive, asserting a 'decisive and proportionate response' to any hostility.
