3 dead in 10 days: Two terror attacks rock J&K despite high security alert
Two terror attacks in Jammu and Kashmir killed 3 people within 10 days: Head Constable Aashiq Hussain Qureshi in Anantnag on July 22, and two non-local labourers from Chhattisgarh in Kulgam district on August 1.
The Anantnag attack occurred at Lal Chowk while Qureshi was on Amarnath Yatra security duty; he was a resident of Beerwah in Budgam district.
The Kulgam attack took place at a brick kiln in Kilam village, about 16 km from Kulgam town; one worker initially injured later died during treatment.
These were the first terror attacks in the valley since the Pahalgam killings in April 2025 that left 26 civilians dead.
J&K Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and Lieutenant Governor Manoj Kumar Sinha condemned the attacks, with the LG vowing that those responsible will be brought to justice.
