Viral Instagram groups claim citizen movements
Reservation Hatao Andolan (RHA), an anti-reservation group, surpassed 5.5 million followers on Instagram.
The group describes itself as a citizen-backed movement with no political affiliation and its founder's identity is unknown.
RHA argues that reservation undermines merit, increases caste divisions, and calls for equal opportunities based on merit instead of caste.
The campaign follows the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), a satirical social media outfit founded by Abhijeet Dipke, which led to Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan's resignation.
Another satirical page, 'E20 Janta Party', targets the Centre's push for E20 fuel (20% ethanol, 80% petrol) championed by Union minister Nitin Gadkari.
