Vikrant calls Ajinkya Rahane 'the true heir to Dravid'

Vikrant Massey called Ajinkya Rahane the 'only true heir to Rahul Dravid' in a heartfelt Instagram note after Rahane announced his retirement from international cricket.

Rahane retired with a career spanning 85 Tests, 90 ODIs, 20 T20Is, and 212 IPL appearances, and is best remembered for leading India to a historic Border-Gavaskar Trophy series win in Australia in 2020-21.

Rahane made his India debut in 2011 during the tour of England, scoring 2,962 ODI runs, and made his Test debut in 2013, finishing with 5,077 runs in 144 innings, including 12 centuries and 26 half-centuries.

Rahane's last international appearance was during the 2023 away Test series against the West Indies, and he announced his retirement with a video captioned 'Cap 278 signing off. Thank you for all the love and support over the years. Forever grateful.'

Vikrant Massey is set to appear in 'Chauhaan' alongside Ajay Devgn and recently starred in the Netflix series 'Musafir Cafe', which premiered on July 24, 2026.
