Idaho fast food restaurant shooting leaves 3 dead and 7 injured, city spokesman says

A shooting at an In-N-Out Burger restaurant in Twin Falls, Idaho, on Saturday afternoon killed 3 people and injured 7, some critically.

Twin Falls city public information officer Josh Palmer said police found the body of the suspected gunman near the restaurant, but it was unclear if he was included in the fatality count.

Police were still determining the shooter's identity and motive, said Twin Falls Police Chief Matthew Hicks, but believed the threat to the community was over.

Witness Lane Koehn said he saw a person with an AR-style rifle emerge from the drive-thru and a man with a pistol fire at the shooter; video showed the shooter approaching a white car and opening the trunk.

The shooting occurred around 2 p.m. in a busy shopping plaza with hundreds of people present; officials were not yet releasing victim names, ages, or other details.
