Vietnam Boat Tragedy: Mortal Remains Of 15 Indians Killed In Mishap Arrive In Mumbai, To Be Sent To Home

Mortal remains of 15 Indian tourists killed in Vietnam boat capsize arrived in Mumbai on Vietnam Airlines flight VN979.

Bodies are being sent to hometowns in Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, and Kerala for last rites.

The accident occurred on July 11 when a speedboat operated by Ocean Pearl Island Company capsized near Hon May Rut Ngoai Island off Phu Quoc Island.

Of 36 people on board (32 Indian tourists, 4 Vietnamese crew), 21 survived and 15 Indian tourists died.

Indian Embassy coordinated with Vietnamese authorities including Phu Quoc Special Economic Zone and Ministry of Foreign Affairs for identification and repatriation.
