Vietnam boat survivor: Captain jumped, so did I

Survivor Nirmal Kumar said the captain jumped overboard after a storm hit, and only those who followed him into the water survived.

The speedboat was closed, preventing rear passengers from escaping, leading to their deaths.

Nirmal lost a childhood friend in the July 11 Vietnam boat tragedy.

He stated that availability of medicines on the island could have saved at least six more lives.

The incident occurred during a sponsored trip for dealers of a mobile phone company.
