A low-pressure area formed in the Bay of Bengal near the West Bengal-Odisha coast, likely to bring heavy rain until Monday, July 27, 2026.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) advised fishermen not to venture into the sea from July 25 to 27 due to very rough sea conditions.

Squally weather with wind speeds of 40-50 kmph is expected along the Odisha coast from July 25 to 27.

An 'orange' alert for heavy to very heavy rainfall was issued for Cuttack, Keonjhar, Dhenkanal, and Angul districts.

A 'yellow' warning for heavy rainfall was issued for 16 other districts, including Puri, from Saturday to Sunday morning.
