Kolkata Weather Update: Heavy Rain Forecast Issued For 21st July In South Bengal Districts

A low-pressure system and cyclonic circulation over the Bay of Bengal have activated the monsoon trough in West Bengal.

Heavy rain is forecast for July 21, 2026, in South Bengal districts including Howrah, North and South 24 Parganas, East and West Medinipur, Jhargram, Bankura, and Nadia.

Rain intensity will increase from Tuesday, July 22, and continue through Thursday.

The monsoon trough extends from Ranchi to Digha, reaching the northwest Bay of Bengal, driving the rainfall.
