Bhiwani’s Seema Kaliramna brings glory to Haryana with CWG discus throw bronze

Seema Kaliramna won bronze in women's discus throw at the Commonwealth Games 2026 in Glasgow with a best throw of 58.65 metres.
The Ph.D. scholar at Chaudhary Bansi Lal University (CBLU), Bhiwani, received a cash award of ₹1 lakh from the university under its sports promotion policy.
She switched from boxing to discus throw early in her career and resumed training the day after her 2019 marriage.
After a two-season break for pregnancy, she returned to training within a year of her son Rudra's birth in 2022, guided by her husband and coach Ravinder.
Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini congratulated Seema for her achievement.
