in5points
Mumbai's seven reservoirs now hold 722,649 million litres of water, at 49.93% of total live storage capacity.
Bhatsa lake, the largest source, is at 44.58%, while Upper Vaitarna is at 28.38%.
Vihar lake overflowed on July 7 at 9:00 pm and Tulsi lake at 11:43 pm the same day.
No rainfall was recorded in catchment areas in the last 24 hours before July 13, but inflows from upstream continued.
The steady storage rise has eased concerns over water availability after heavy monsoon rains in early July.
