'The Odyssey' scores Rs 70 crore debut in India

Christopher Nolan's 'The Odyssey' starring Matt Damon crossed Rs 70 crore net in its opening weekend in India.

The film earned an estimated Rs 21.90 crore net on Day 3, with a total India net of Rs 61.30 crore and gross of Rs 73.19 crore.

'The Odyssey' is Nolan's biggest opener in India, surpassing 'Oppenheimer' with a Day 1 gross of Rs 20.75 crore.

The original English version drove most of the business, earning nearly Rs 50 crore of the total India net.

Globally, 'The Odyssey' debuted with over USD 264 million, marking Nolan's biggest opening since 'The Dark Knight Rises'.
