BMC Commissioner Ashwini Bhide Chairs Review Meeting On Citywide Cleanliness Drive Following HC Directives

BMC Commissioner Ashwini Bhide chaired a review meeting on Saturday at BMC headquarters following Bombay High Court directives on citywide cleanliness.

The BMC plan aims to increase visible cleanliness, prevent open waste dumping, and permanently eliminate Garbage Vulnerable Points (GVPs) across Greater Mumbai.

CCTV surveillance at GVPs will be strengthened, and strict punitive action will be taken against littering and cleanliness norm violations.

Bhide ordered removal of encroachments on footpaths near schools, hospitals, railway stations, metro stations, bus stops, and markets, and demolition of all unauthorized constructions.

Complaints on the 'MARG' app will be resolved on a priority basis, and measures will address traffic bottlenecks on major routes.
