Monsoon Session: TMC MP Kalyan Banerjee suspended from Lok Sabha over remarks against woman MP
Trinamool Congress MP Kalyan Banerjee was suspended from Lok Sabha on Wednesday for using unparliamentary language against a woman MP.
Banerjee engaged in a heated verbal exchange with former party colleagues from the Nationalist Citizens Party of India (NCPI), including Mitali Bagh, Shatabdi Roy, and Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar.
Bagh, Dastidar, and other NCPI members met Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla to raise the issue.
TMC MPs had previously revolted against party leadership after the West Bengal assembly election defeat and joined NCPI, sitting separately in the House.
