TMC MP Kalyan Banerjee suspended for Monsoon Session

Lok Sabha suspended TMC MP Kalyan Banerjee for the rest of the Monsoon Session for using unparliamentary language against a woman member.
Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar accused Banerjee of repeated verbal abuse and misogynistic conduct, formally complaining to Speaker Om Birla.
Banerjee denied the accusations, questioning why Ghosh Dastidar did not raise the matter immediately if the remarks occurred during proceedings.
Ghosh Dastidar and 19 other TMC MPs broke away to join the Nationalist Citizens Party of India (NCPI) and now sit separately from the TMC benches.
Speaker Om Birla approved separate seating for the rebel MPs, but has not yet ruled on their formal merger with NCPI, leaving their parliamentary status unresolved.
