NHSRCL Speeds Up On The 508-km Mumbai-Ahmedabad Major Bullet Train Electrification Project

NHSRCL is building India's first high-speed 2x25 kV overhead traction system for the 508-km Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train corridor, designed to support trains at 320 kmph.

The electrification project includes 14 traction substations, 31 switching posts, and 16 distribution substations across Maharashtra and Gujarat.

Over 22,000 steel masts and 25,700 cantilever assemblies will support the overhead system across 1,125 track km.

Key electrical components like transformers and feeder wires are being manufactured domestically, boosting the Make in India initiative.

All 14 traction substations will have earthquake detection seismometers, with 28 seismometers installed, and the network monitored via a centralized control center.
