India-Japan bullet train project on track, govt sources dismiss reports of Tokyo-Delhi rift

India's Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train project is on track with government sources dismissing reports of a rift with Japan.

The first section of the corridor is expected to open in 2027.

Next-generation E10 Shinkansen trains, still under development, are set to join the corridor in the early 2030s.

Until the E10 trains are ready, services will start using current generation high-speed trains.

The project aims to launch India's first bullet train as soon as possible.
