Jaishankar raises death of Indian seafarers with Russia’s Lavrov

External affairs minister S Jaishankar raised the Black Sea deaths of four Indian crew members with Russian foreign minister Sergey Lavrov in Manila.

Jaishankar reiterated India's strong concern over the safety of Indian seafarers in the Black Sea region.

India condemned the Russian attack on the Guinea Bissau-flagged MV Golden Leo, which killed four Indian seafarers and severely injured another.

Jaishankar and Lavrov reviewed bilateral relations, including trade, energy, connectivity, and science & technology.

India urged Russia to avoid targeting commercial shipping to prevent loss of innocent civilian lives.
