'He Was Set To Marry Next April': Kerala Family Awaits Body of Sailor Killed in Ukraine ship attack

Merchant navy sailor Akhil Joyan from Kasaragod, Kerala, was killed in a Russian attack on cargo ship MV Golden Leo near Ukraine's Odesa coast.

Akhil was among four Indian nationals killed; another Indian crew member was critically injured.

The ship, carrying food grains, had 17 people on board including five Indians; eight people were rescued.

Akhil, the only son of his parents, was engaged and planned to marry in April next year.

His family awaits return of his body, but lacks clear information from the shipping company about the timeline.
