West Bengal Weather Update: Active Monsoon Trough Brings Heavy Rain Back Across State

An active monsoon trough has revived rain activity across West Bengal, bringing light to heavy showers.

The IMD forecasts rain in all South Bengal districts, including Kolkata, South 24 Parganas, East Medinipur, Purulia, Bankura, West Bardhaman, Birbhum, and Jhargram.

Coastal and nearby districts may experience gusty winds of 30 to 40 km/h alongside the rain.

North Bengal districts Darjeeling, Cooch Behar, Jalpaiguri, Alipurduar, and Kalimpong are expected to see moderate rainfall, with heavy rain in some places.

A low-pressure system over the Bay of Bengal has activated the trough line, causing the rain; Kolkata, North 24 Parganas, South 24 Parganas, Hooghly, and Howrah will see scattered showers but no heavy rain.
