TN minister rejects demand for all-party meeting to discuss Cauvery water issue

Tamil Nadu Minister C T R Nirmal Kumar rejected the demand for an all-party meeting to discuss the Cauvery water row with Karnataka.

Parties including DMK, AIADMK, PMK, and VCK had demanded the all-party meeting.

Kumar cited a unanimously passed Assembly resolution and criticized DMK for filing a High Court petition challenging it and a Supreme Court petition.

He alleged DMK President M K Stalin and Karnataka Chief Minister D K Shivakumar are working together against Tamil Nadu's interests.

Kumar said the DMK's Supreme Court petition created confusion, as the state government was already preparing its own filing.
