Preview of 2030 Ahmedabad at Glasgow CWG closing ceremony

Ahmedabad will receive the Commonwealth Games flag and host baton at the Glasgow 2026 closing ceremony on August 2, 2026.

Ahmedabad will host the centenary Commonwealth Games in 2030, marking 100 years since the first edition in 1930.

The handover segment features three acts: commemoration of the 150th anniversary of Vande Mataram, a jugalbandi by sitar maestro Rishabh Rikhiram Sharma and Scottish piper Ross Ainslie, and a visual journey across India focusing on Gujarat.

For the first time in Commonwealth Games history, each of the 74 nations and territories will receive its own customized baton for the 2030 relay, introduced in 1958 at Cardiff.
