Couple dead, 4 hurt as boulder falls on tempo on Jammu-Srinagar NH in Ramban

A massive boulder struck a tempo on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH-44) near Gangroo in Ramban district, killing a couple and injuring four others.

The deceased were identified as Doda residents Nazir Ahmed and his wife Shakeela Begum.

J&K Deputy CM Surinder Chowdhary and NC MP Mian Altaf Ahmad narrowly escaped separate landslides on the Jammu-Poonch highway.

Vehicular movement on the Jammu-Srinagar NH was suspended due to multiple landslides and shooting stones between Udhampur and Banihal.

All major pilgrimages in Jammu and Kashmir, including Amarnath Yatra, Vaishno Devi Yatra, and Machail Mata yatra, have been suspended since July 19.
