11 dead, several missing after flash floods, landslides in Poonch, Rajouri

At least 11 people died in flash floods and landslides in Poonch and Rajouri districts of Jammu and Kashmir on July 20, 2026.

Nine deaths occurred in Poonch district, including eight from a landslide that buried a house in Lower Murrah village of Surankote.

Two deaths were reported from Rajouri district; Rajouri recorded the highest rainfall at 135 mm in 24 hours.

Rescue operations by SDRF, police, army, and civil administration continued amid fears of more missing people.
