Mumbai: Kishori Pednekar Seeks Probe Into BMC Mid-Day Meals After Glass Shards Allegedly Found In Ghatkopar

Glass shards were allegedly found in a mid-day meal at Pantnagar Upper Primary Hindi School in Ghatkopar, Mumbai, prompting teachers to stop students from eating.

BMC Leader of Opposition Kishori Pednekar demanded an inquiry into the quality and safety of mid-day meals in BMC schools.

Pednekar submitted a representation to BMC Commissioner Ashwini Bhide and FDA Commissioner Tukund Mundhe, requesting comprehensive inspection and laboratory testing of food samples.

The incident occurred a day after the FDA directed nearly 1.08 lakh schools in Maharashtra to comply with food safety norms for canteens and meals under the Pradhan Mantri Poshan Shakti Nirman Yojana.
