EC sanctions one-time honorarium of Rs 6,000 for BLOs and supervisors involved in SIR process
Election Commission of India approved a one-time honorarium of Rs 6,000 for Booth Level Officers and BLO Supervisors involved in the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls.
The payment is sanctioned over and above the officials' annual remuneration due to the scale and nature of the revision work.
Directive sent to chief electoral officers of 20 states and Union Territories including Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Delhi, and Odisha.
Around 3.94 lakh Booth Level Officers deployed for door-to-door verification, supported by 3.42 lakh Booth Level Agents from political parties.
The SIR exercise covers over 36 crore electors across 16 states and three Union Territories, aligned with the house-listing stage of the Census.
