Anurag Jain named NITI Aayog CEO

Anurag Jain, a 1989-batch IAS officer from the Madhya Pradesh cadre, has been appointed as the next CEO of NITI Aayog.
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet approved his appointment for a period of two years, effective from the date he assumes charge.
Jain previously served as the 35th chief secretary of Madhya Pradesh, with his tenure extended to August 31, 2026.
He succeeds in a national policy role at NITI Aayog, where he will coordinate with ministries, states, and stakeholders on the government's development agenda.
Earlier in 2026, economist Ashok Kumar Lahiri was appointed Vice Chairperson of NITI Aayog, replacing Suman K Bery.
