Born 22 October 2001 in Jaipur, Yash switched from basketball to javelin, starting with bamboo javelin.
His father Rai Singh, former national-level javelin thrower, supports his training. In 2021, Yash broke Neeraj Chopra's U20 record with 78.68m; in 2022, first 80m+ throw (82.13m) at Indian Grand Prix 4.
