Why Neeraj Chopra's silver meant more with Yashvir by his side in Glasgow

Neeraj Chopra won a silver medal in the men's javelin throw at the Commonwealth Games 2026 in Glasgow with a season-best throw of 85.83m.

Yashvir Singh clinched the bronze medal in his Commonwealth Games debut with a personal best throw of 85.41m on his final attempt.

Sri Lanka's Rumesh Tharanga Pathirage claimed the gold medal with a throw of 89.75m.

Chopra said sharing the podium with Yashvir Singh was special and reminded him of the Asian Games medal double.

The silver medal adds to Chopra's achievements including Olympic gold and silver, World Championships gold and silver, two Asian Games golds, and the Diamond League title.
