Sarnath, an ancient Buddhist site, has been inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List, becoming India's 45th World Heritage Site. The decision was announced at the UNESCO session in Busan, South Korea, and has been welcomed by Buddhist leaders who thanked PM Modi and the Indian government.
