Delhi HC to hear plea against ‘police surveillance’ of Jantar Mantar protesters today

Delhi High Court will hear a petition alleging police surveillance of protesters at a student stir led by Cockroach Janata Party (CJP).

The court suggested filing a comprehensive petition to examine the legal framework governing police surveillance.

The bench noted the current petition is confined to a specific aspect and recommended a broader petition.

Centre's lawyer argued the petition has become infructuous as surveillance is no longer continuous.

Petitioner Aishe Ghose seeks disclosure of legal authority, threat assessments, and data protocols for surveillance measures.
